Pacific Entry Bench

The Pacific Entry Bench began with a simple prompt: create a bench that welcomes guests into the home — a place to sit, to pause, to take off one’s shoes. But the final piece became something much more: a sculptural form that directs energy inward and upward, while remaining solid, functional, and deeply grounded in our principles of craft and design.

Carved from Claro walnut the bench is defined by a continuous line that rises from the front right leg and crests at the upper left — a curve that guided the entire design process from sketch to scale model to final build. Though it departs visually from our previous work, the Pacific Bench holds to the same principles: function, meticulous craftsmanship, and the beauty of natural wood.

Designed to sit at the threshold between indoors and out, the Pacific Entry Bench invites you to both observe and to sit. It represents a new direction for us in form, but not in values. This is still furniture made to live with, shaped by hand, and built to last.
