A perfect piece of furniture is beautiful in both function and form and will last for generations. When we work with a client to create a new design, our process lets us meet these criteria.

First, we listen, developing a sense of the needs and wants of our client.

Then we put our developed understanding into drawings, which we use as a basis for further discussion and refinement to make sure we’re on the same page.

Next we build prototypes and test critical assumptions. Does the vision shared by our client and us work in three dimensions? Will the piece not only look good, but also be supremely comfortable? Will it require any adjustments in design to meet structural requirements? What about the joinery—is it strong enough for the piece’s intended use?

Finally, when we’re satisfied with a prototype we build the real thing.
